The Cold Day
When all warmth hast abandoned the land,
Too bless the valleys and beaches of sand,
When all the wind blows and the snow must command,
All cross the wide word with cruel whip at hand,
Alone in the shadows and cold I’ll stand,
Thinking of times when I could withstand,
The terrible chills that course through my land,
Without friend I will think of the days gone,
Searching for berries at the break of the dawn,
Talking to birds now long withdrawn,
Letting out many a lazy yawn,
Pretending at princes and a white swan,
In forest ventures undergone,
Now left with a land froze and baron,
The sun came down, not to bless,
The land in which lies much distress,
She shines her light without success,
It only betrays our hopelessness,
Of trip to the world of warmth and bliss,
Our faith goes down a deep abyss,
As in multiple layers we must dress,
But hark! Hear the children play,
Tossing snowballs in disarray,
Sledding in a wooden sleigh,
All joyful and gay,
Delight at the snowfall faces display,
Happy in the cold and winters splay,
Even joy can be found on a winter’s day.
